Kristin Monroe, University of Kentucky

Kristin V. Monroe is Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of Kentucky and Associate Editor of City & Society. She is the author of The Insecure City: Space, Mobility, and Power (Rutgers University Press, 2016) and her work has appeared in anthropology, urban studies, and area studies-focused journals and volumes such as Cultural Anthropology, History & AnthropologyComparative Studies of South Asia, Africa, and The Middle EastAnthropology of Work ReviewThe Routledge Handbook of Anthropology and the City, and Everyday Life in the Muslim Middle East: Third Edition. Her current project, supported by the Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research, is multi-sited ethnographic project about mobility, labor, and forms of exchange across the Syrian warscape.
